*Oprah Winfrey's talk show was among the winners at the Humane Society of the United States' 23rd Genesis Awards, held Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton to honor the news and entertainment media's coverage of animal issues. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" was recognized for throwing its spotlight on puppy mills, dogfighting and factory farming. Ellen DeGeneres, Disney's animated dog movie "Bolt" and an episode of "The Simpsons" called "Apocalypse Cow" were also among the winners.
