From SWV to "Survivor"

From The Hartford Courant:

One of the 16 castaways in the upcoming "Survivor: Tocantins - The Brazilian Highlands" is Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George, member of the Grammy-winning gospel trio SWV - Sisters with Voices.

Singing has never been a part of the competition on "Survivor" - the last woman to sing a lot on the show with an original composition about the reality show, was the first to be voted out one year.

Johnson-George, 37, is wife of a former NFL player, the Heisman Trophy winner and former running back for the Tennessee Titans Eddie George, she is also an author, of the book "Player HateHER: How to Avoid the Beat Down and Live in a Drama Free World."

That may help her more in the game, which starts Feb. 12 on CBS.

Of the other candidates, there's a professional cyclist, a cattle ranger, a couple of business people from New York city and two models. There's nobody from Connecticut or even New England this time out, after Bob of Maine won last season.

The list of other survivor candidates this season follow.
  • Benjamin Wade, 37, soccer coach, Bolivar, Mo.
  • Brendan Synnott, 30, entrepreneur, New York
  • Candace Smith, 31, attorney, Dayton, Ohio
  • Carolina Eastwood, 26, bartender, West Hollywood
  • Debra Beebee, 46, middle school principal, Auburn, Ala.
  • Erinn Lobdell, 26, hairstylist, Waukesha, Wis.
  • Jerry Sims, 49, Army sergeant, Rock Hill, SC
  • Joe Dowdle, 26, real estate agent, Austin, Texas
  • James "JT" Thomas Jr., 24, cattle rancher, Samson, Ala.
  • Sandy Burgin, 53, bus driver, Louisville, Ky.
  • Sierra Reed, 23, model, Los Angeles
  • Spencer Duhm, 19, student, Lakeland, Fla.
  • Stephen Fishbach, 29, corporate consultant, New York
  • Sydney Wheeler, 24, model, Raleigh, N.C.
  • Tyson Apostol, 29, professional cyclist, Lindon, Utah
Hmmm...you know, the whole "Survivor" fever never really caught on with me but since Taj is currently a "curvy chick" (at least she was the last time I saw her...lol), I'mma have to watch and root for her at least once!
