And I consider it part of my job (as a voice for plus sized America) to make that introduction....So here's a little background on full figured and fabulous diva Karine Bakhoum!
Enjoy.....
Karine Bakhoum was born in Switzerland to a Coptic Egyptian father and American mother. Raised in Europe and in the States, she completed her studies in Comparative Literature at the American University in Paris, immersing herself not only in academics but also in the rich culinary world of the City of Lights. Her natural enthusiasm, creativity and vast knowledge of food made her a perfect candidate for entrepreneurship, which she jumped into in 1993 with KB Network News, a highly specialized boutique public relations, consulting and media networking company. Karine's company and life are one and the same. Whether she's describing a dish, talking up a celebrity chef, working with hotels, or pitching a story, her energy takes everybody by storm. A great cook herself and an avid entertainer, she has a well-cultivated palate and a chef's knowledge of food and ingredients. She shares her passion with clients and editors, and uses it whether she is consulting to the restaurants and hotels she represents or pitching a new dish or design concept. In addition, her personal experience working with the world's finest hotels have made her an expert in the hospitality industry.
She energizes and infuses her passion into her well-trained staff, and together as a team, they hand pick the projects and clients they work on. Whether opening a new hot spot, launching a new food concept or keeping a restaurant institution on the culinary map, KB Network News customizes a communication campaign fit for individual needs. It's no surprise then that Karine has turned KB Network News into one of the most successful hospitality, consulting and PR companies in the country. Of the many impressive hotels, restaurants and food businesses KB Network News has worked with and for which they have generated excitement and recognition, are celebrity chef and TV personality Bobby Flay of Mesa Grill and Bolo, Chef/Restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian of Town restaurant in the Chambers hotel, as well as restaurateur Stephen Hanson of B.R.Guest, for whom KB represented Blue Fin at the W hotel in Times Square in addition to Fiamma Osteria, Hanson's first foray into upscale cuisine featuring chef Michael White.
KBNN has also consulted and represented restaurant mogul Michael Weinstein of ARK restaurants, for whom the company spearheaded their Las Vegas enterprises. Other projects include launching an overseas web site for Whittard of London as well as David Burke's Gourmet Pops for the Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group. KB Network News is no stranger to fashion or nightlife press and has launched and handled several red-hot nightclubs including the ultra chic supper clubs Lotus in New York and Rumi in Miami, in addition to the opening of the Villard Bar and Lounge at the New York Palace Hotel and the reopening of the revitalized Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel in New York.
In 2003, KB Network News celebrated its 10th successful year. The future looks bright, with a very steady growth in all practice areas, including a new international hotel and luxury product division underway and a new expanded office on Madison Avenue. KBNN is about teamwork and efficiency paired with an honest approach to consulting and public relations. For More Information on Karine Bakhoum check out her site: www.kbnetworknews.con
