Queen Latifah Robbed of $10000 Worth of Jewelry

Dang ya'll...if this is a forecast of things to come...it's gonna be crazy in 2009...folks are starving everywhere....

From US Weekly:

Over $10,000 worth of sentimental jewelry was stolen from Queen Latifah 's luxury villa in Tobago, the Caribbean island's local newspaper reports.

Tobago police told Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday they believe a staff member of the $1,000-per-night Stone Haven Resort -- where the Oscar-nominated star had been vacationing over Christmas -- may have committed the crime.

Latifah, who checked in under the name Cynthia Hadden, reportedly returned from a barbecue brunch held in her honour by the establishment's management to discover a bracelet, two gold rings, a gold chain and a silver ring were missing. Police were called to the resort after staff security conducted a search of the estate.

"Several searches are being carried out and the police are trying to have the jewelry returned to Queen Latifah. Investigators said the larceny seems to be an inside job and efforts are being made round the clock to make a breakthrough," acting police commissioner James Philbert told the newspaper.

Latifah may offer a reward for the jewelry in order to have it returned before she heads home from her vacation Wednesday, the paper reported.

What a note to end the year on...eh?
"The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from a sleeping child."
