Queen Latifah is looking for the next great female MC

With the help of COVERGIRL and in promotion of her new album, Persona, Oscar-nominated actress and singer/rapper Queen Latifah has launched a search for the next great female MC.

Frustrated with the lack of female voices in the rap game, Queen Latifah (born Dana Owens) has partnered with the cosmetics brand on a quest to find the most talented young women on the scene (solo or group) who know their way around a rhyme. The winning act gets to open a date on the Queen’s upcoming tour, which kicks off November 1st in Canada. The winner will also get a makeover and be featured in a COVERGIRL Queen Collection ad, and possibly even land a record deal. Not too shabby.

Hmmm....this contest makes me wonder what happened to the "Miss Rap Supreme" show on VH1?....Wasn't that the premise of the show? The search for the next great female MC? I'm just saying.....
