RuPaul takes a head shot at Tyra

I LOVE my queens....I really Do!!!!

Monday, January 12th 2009, 5:17 AM

LOS ANGELES - Famed drag queen RuPaul is returning to television with a new reality competition show for Logo.

"RuPaul's Drag Race," a competition to find the best drag queen, premieres Feb. 2 on Logo, a network aiming to reach gays and lesbians.
Make no mistake, RuPaul told TV writers here, the show is not inspired by Tyra Bank's "America's Next Top Model."

"She learned everything from me," RuPaul said. "I let her borrow all my used wigs."

Ouch.

Ooooohhh..Seems like shadiness will abound on this one y'all...I'm getting my popcorn ready NOW!!!

Fashion designer Bob Mackie, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams will appear on the show as guest judges.

(from today's NY Daily News)

Okay I totally GET the Bob Mackie selection (I mean he made CHER an absolute legend in drag queen history!!) but WTF??? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and thestraightestpersonontheplanet..."MICHELLE WILLIAMS"??? Was everybody out of the country without cell phone or email access when they had the call for judges??? What do these three have to do with drag queens...I just wanna know people???
Let's meet the ladies shall we:

VICTORIA PARKER
39, Raleigh, NC - A big entertainer (she was Miss Continental Plus in 2003)(hmmm...never heard of this one before...more on THIS pageant later!) with a heart, Victoria brings class and 21 years of experience to RuPaul's Drag Race and quickly becomes a "mother hen" to some of the girls.

Miss Victoria appears to be the only "Curvy Chick" in this competition...lol...so you already KNOW that's who I'm rooting for!

TAMMIE BROWN
26, Los Angeles, CA - A unique performer with her own wacky style, Tammie brings a touch of "old Hollywood" into the 21st century.

SHANNEL
29, Las Vegas, NV - This girl is fierce! Shannel brings the bright lights and skimpy costumes of the Vegas strip to RuPaul's Drag Race. She's got a killer body, dazzling wardrobe, sickening makeup skills and truckloads of confidence.
REBECCA GLASSCOCK
28, Ft Lauderdale, FL - She's the innocent ingénue of RuPaul's Drag Race, but don't underestimate Miss Glasscock. Beneath the makeup and soft voice is a competitive queen who will stop at nothing to win.

ONGINA
26, Los Angeles, CA - She doesn't wear wigs, padding or tuck, but she's still one of the most versatile and focused contestants in RuPaul's Drag Race. Ongina lives her life -- and does drag -- on her own terms.

NINA FLOWERS
34, Denver, CO - Originally from Puerto Rico, Nina is known for her intricate makeup and flawless runway presentation. Her style mixes punk, Goth and couture, but her language skills and lack of versatility could be roadblocks on her way to the finish line.

JADE
25, Chicago, IL - A professional dancer, she's got it all -- beauty, talent, abs of steel and a great attitude -- but is still coming into her own. Jade is hoping this is her chance to blossom into a first-class queen.

BEBE ZAHARA BENET
28, Minneapolis, MN - A native of the West African republic of Cameroon, Bebe's exotic dignity and sophistication set her apart from the other contestants. She's neither flashy nor trashy, so she'll have to make a big impression on the judges if she's going to beat out the other queens and...

AKASHIA
24, Cleveland, OH - "Every competition needs a bitch," Akashia says. This queen has no problem throwing shade as long as it gets her closer to the finish line. She has a quick wit and a vicious tongue; the question is, does Akashia have the talent to back it up?
