Casting Call: Miss Black Queens NY Pageant seeking Contestants age 17-26

The race in on to find contestants ages 17-26 for the Miss Black Queens NY Pageant, taking place in Queens, NY in September 2009.

United States of America (Press Release) May 4, 2009 --

New York, NY, 05/04/2009: The search is on for contestants for the Miss Black Queens New York Pageant. The pageant which is being executive produced by Plus Model, Tiffany Braxton Belvin is scheduled for September 2009 in Queens, New York.

This extraordinary opportunity will include various competitions for contestants, A-list sponsors, and special guests. The Miss Black Queens New York Pageant is currently seeking innovative and talented young women who have a desire to not only showcase their beauty but their confidence, intelligence and achievements.

Open to young African-American women between the ages of 17-26 that are currently living or have lived, worked or attended school within New York State and a citizen of the United States, contestants have a chance to win an official Miss Black Queens New York USA Crown and sash, complimentary professional photo shoot, up to $1000 in cash and paid entry fees to compete in the Miss Black New York USA Pageant.

Areas of competition include: Personal Interview, Fitness Wear, Talent, and Evening Gown. The winner will compete in the Miss Black New York USA Pageant, with a chance to go on to the national level in the Miss Black USA competition.

Tiffany Braxton Belvin, a native New Yorker, began performing in amateur fashion shows in the early 90’s. In 2007, when cast for a reality show that did not meet production she was urged to consider modeling professionally. Tiffany began her professional career as one of the first signature models for the e-zine, Belle-Noir.com. She became a fit model for a denim company, and has placed as a finalist in multiple model search competitions.

Tiffany has appeared in various media outlets including, The Tyra Banks Show, ABC’s Eyewitness News, NBC’s Today in New York, and she appeared in the second season of Lifetime Television's
How to Look Good Naked. Tiffany was crowned Miss NYC Plus Diva 2008 where she also received accolades for her award winning poem "Why Do I Love My Curves?"

Tiffany's professionalism and work ethics have parlayed her into positions as a model consultant, pageant coach, and she is the Regional Director for the Miss Black New York USA Pageant. Tiffany is currently represented by DSE Model & Talent Management.
