Aretha Franklin says she wants royalties from the Detroit milliner who made the hat she wore while performing at the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

The Queen of Soul told Detroit radio station WWJ-AM that she thinks she "should be getting big-time royalties from him."

Luke Song, whose custom-designed women's hats have been mainstays among Detroit's stylish churchgoers, got a flood of calls after Franklin wore the grey, felt hat with a Swarovski rhinestone-bordered bow while performing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" on Jan. 20 in Washington. Song sold a retail version for $179 (U.S.).

yeah ree-ree, you're supposed to discuss that up front. besides, he's agreed to not sell any in the color that she wore - so that's about all she can hope for after the fact.

... will the hat saga never end? lol!
