Ya'll better run out and get your copy of Allure Magazine's May 2008 issue as SOON as it hits the newsstands.....I already KNOW it's gonna be a collector's item!!!
For those of you who haven't heard yet the fabulous Jill Scott is shattering myths as she poses nude for the May issue along with Gabrielle Union, Angie Harmon, Vanessa Williams & I heard Britney (uh...like we haven't seen THAT before) Spears... (lol....I ain't putting THEIR photos here cuz, quite frankly....seeing skinny chicks in print nude ain't nothing new....we're talking MILESTONES here!!!!)
Gabrielle Union and Jill Scott are two of five actresses who shed their clothes for the May issue of "Allure" magazine. Jill Scott told Cara Litke of "Allure" that "nobody ever celebrates women whose bodies are bigger than a size 8. But here I am, naked in a magazine at size 16. I hope that I can be an inspiration to all women. We're all beautiful, each and every one of us."
Of course the photo is photo shopped TO DEATH and they have her obscured by so much foliage that you can't really see anything but it's a turning point FOR US nonetheless....
So my hat goes off to you Miss Jill!!!!
Okay...so I managed to find Miss Vanessa's photo and I AM gonna put it here as an example (and because I just really like Vanessa Williams...lol):
Um....frankly I would have loved to see a shot similar (or as revealing) to Vanessa's using Jill Scott (just a thought....they still have us um...."hiding"...feel me fam?)
But I ain't complaining.....it's a start......
